Required Documents

The list of documents depends on the procedure: recognition as a Polish citizen through the Voivode or granting of citizenship by the President of the Republic of Poland (RP). Before applying, it is necessary to check the legal basis, length of residence, status in Poland, USC documents, B1 language level, income, housing, and residence history.

Warsaw

Polish Citizenship

Polish citizenship can be obtained in different ways. The most common routes for foreigners are recognition as a Polish citizen through the Voivode or granting of citizenship by the President of the Republic of Poland (RP).

The Voivode procedure applies to those who have already met the legal requirements: sufficient legal residence period, appropriate residence status, proof of Polish language knowledge, income, and housing — if required under the basis.

The procedure through the President of the RP is more individual. An application can be submitted even if the standard requirements for recognition by the Voivode are not yet met, but it is necessary to properly present ties to Poland, documents, motivation, and circumstances of the case.

SKILLDOCS helps choose the correct path, prepare documents, and complete the submission process in Warsaw.
