Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a new residence card if I change my job?

According to the 2022 legislative changes regulating residence permits, there is no longer a requirement to obtain a new residence card when changing employers. In some cases, only an update of the decision (decyzja) is required (not for everyone).

You can leave Poland, but to re-enter you must have a visa or another valid legal basis for entry.

You should inform the immigration office about the change of employer and submit a new set of documents from your new employer.

In most cases, the validity period of a work-based residence card depends on the length of your intended employment, which is specified by the employer in Załącznik nr 1. Other important documents may also affect the final decision.
